• cream, pink, fuchsia and white yarns and a crochet hook a few sizes smaller than the manufacturer recommends.

• a jar lid (3" diam and 1" high)            

• ch - chain
• st - stitch
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• dec - decrease (stitch next 2 stitches together) 
• Rnd - round

• () - number of stitches you should have at the end of your row.

Use cream yarn.
Ch 4, sl st to form a loop
Rnd 1: 12sc in the loop, sl st (12)


Change to pink yarn.
Rnd 2: ch3, [yarn over, insert the hook into the same st, yarn over and pull up a long loop] repeat 3 times and do the same in the next st.
Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook. Ch2, sl st into next st.
Repeat Rn2 to form six petals. Fasten off.


Join fuchsia yarn to any ch2 or ch3 space from the previous round.
Rnd 3: ch3, 2dc in the same space, 1ch. [3dc in next ch space, ch1] repeat eleven times.


Join white yarn to any ch space from the previous round.
Rnd 4: ch3, 2dc in the same space, 1ch. [3dc in next ch space, ch1] repeat eleven times.

Change to pink yarn.
Rnd 5: sc in each st around (46)
Rnd 6: sc in next 6sc, dec in next sc (42)
Rnd 7: sc in next 5sc, dec in next sc (36)
Rnd 8: sc in each sc around (36)
Fasten off.


Join cream yarn to any st from the previous round.
Rnd 9: [ch5, skip 2 sc, sl st into next st] repeat twelve times.
Rnd 10: [2sc, 3ch, 2sc in the ch5 space] repeat twelve times in each ch5 space.
Cut yarn and weave in the ends.

As I told you in 'My Goals for 2016' post, this year I want to learn new things and improve the ones I already know, of course! One of the techniques I was eager to learn was ORIGAMI.

These days I've been doing a lot of research on the internet and I came up with these Origami Hearts which I found really easy to make. There are just a few steps to follow and the result is magical :)

Estos días estuve investigando mucho en internet y surgieron estos Origami Hearts que son realmente fáciles de hacer. Hay unos pocos pasos a seguir y el resultado es mágico :)

Here are the steps you need to follow | Aquí están los pasos que tienen que seguir: 


1- Fold the square in half diagonally as precisely as you can and make a crease. Unfold the paper back into a square shape | Doblar el cuadrado a la mitad de manera diagonal tan preciso como puedan y hacer un pliegue. Desdoblar el papel.

2- Fold the paper in half diagonally in the other direction and make a crease. Unfold your paper | Doblar el papel a la mitad diagonalmente en la otra dirección y hacer un pliegue. Desdoblar el papel.

3- Pull the top corner down to the middle fold line of the paper and make a crease | Tirar la esquina superior hacia abajo hasta el pliegue del medio del papel y hacer un nuevo pliegue.

4- Pull the bottom corner of the paper up and make a crease | Tirar la esquina inferior del papel hacia arriba y hacer un pliegue.

5- Lift the right corner up and fold along the middle crease line | Levantar la esquina derecha y doblarla a lo largo del pliegue central.

6- Repeat it on the left corner | Repetir en la esquina izquierda.

7- Flip your heart over. Fold the top right corner down to meet the edge of the coloured paper | Dar vuelta el corazón. Doblar la esquina superior derecha hacia abajo hasta que toque el borde de color.

8- Repeat the process on the top left corner | Repetir el proceso en la esquina superior izquierda.

9- Fold the right corner back slightly | Doblar un poco la esquina derecha hacia atrás.

10- Repeat on the other side | Repetir del otro lado.


Now your Origami Heart is complete and you're ready to give it to your Valentine ! | Ahora tu Origami Heart está terminado y puedes regalárselo a tu enamorado!
